Abercrombie & Fitch settlement

June 18, 2005

Seattle Times is reporting that Abercrombie & Fitch has agreed to reimburse employees in Washington state:

Clothing giant Abercrombie & Fitch has agreed to settle a nearly $1 million class-action lawsuit filed earlier this year, claiming that the chain violated state law by requiring employees to purchase and wear Abercrombie clothes to promote “the look” of the season.

A King County Superior Court judge gave preliminary approval Monday to the proposed settlement that provides for cash reimbursements to Washington employees based on the length of their employment.

In the settlement, Abercrombie & Fitch agreed to reimburse between $65 and $110 to certain salespeople and managers who worked in the stores between 2000 and 2004 for each three-month period of employment.
